Additional Information
- Medical Forms should be given to Brian Minsker as soon as possible so we
can ensure that they are filled out correctly. If the form is incomplete or the Doctor's
signature is missing, then your boy will be unable to attend until the form is completed.
- Medication must be given to Brian Minsker the morning we leave for Camp
Drake. Make sure that you have complete instructions included--the personnel at Camp Drake
will dispense the medication. The medication must be in its original bottle and clearly
labeled. This includes adults.
- Pocketknives are permitted for Webelos only. The boy must have a whittling
chip card to be able to use it (they can earn this at camp). All pocketknives are to be labeled
and given to Brian Minsker (or their parent, if they are attending) the morning we leave for camp.
- Snacks are not allowed in tents. Boys can purchase snacks at the Trading Post.
No snacks may be stored with the boy's personal gear in his tent. Therefore, boys attending camp without
a parent are discouraged from bringing personal snacks to camp. The pack will provide some snacks.
- Money can be sent with the Scouts to purchase soda, snacks, T-shirts, and souvenirs
at the camp Trading Post. Adults attending with their Scout should hold on to the money. Scouts
attending without a parent should give their money, clearly labeled, to Brian Minsker the morning
before we leave for camp. The envelope should contain clear instructions on how much they are
permitted to spend each day.
- Fire Starters are absolutely prohibited for Scouts. No matches,
lighters, flints and steels, or other fire starters (including those that can be purchased (but
won't be) at the Trading Post) are permitted.
- Open-Toed Shoes, including sandals, shower shoes, flip flops, etc., are permitted
only in the pool and shower area and may not be worn at any other time, including to and
from the pool or shower.
- Really Crummy Shoes are recommended when boating if it is really rainy and muddy. These
would be shoes that you wouldn't mind throwing out if they get wet or really dirty.
